About Me
My name is Annelise Brooks Laakko, with four sets of double letters throughout the entire name. I take my coffee with a splash of creamer (okay, a GENEROUS splash). I love the Oxford comma. I am Midwestern to my core, which most people have said they can smell off of me from a mile away. After living, learning, and loving the city for five years now, I'm wholeheartedly jumping into this crazy business.

Background
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, with a passion and love for theater, activism, and social justice. I found my home in NYC at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, with a concentration in The Performing Arts as a Vehicle for Conflict Transformation in Post-Conflict Communities and a minor in the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology.

Vision
As an artist, I strive to create experiences and tell stories that make people feel deeply. I want to develop pieces that make people think critically about the world, their lives, and the times and spaces that we all inhabit. I crave ingenuity, authenticity, and imagination. I see how the arts can be used to freely communicate and share our basic human desires and necessities.
